AP Microeconomics study tips
- The long FRQ is worth 10 points and often asks for a firm graph (marginal cost, ATC, MR) with profit or loss shaded; practice shading the rectangle and labeling its corners.
- Know the profit-maximizing rule (MR = MC) for every market structure and the shutdown rule (price below AVC) cold; both appear nearly every year.
- In externality questions, state whether marginal social cost or benefit differs from private and what tax or subsidy fixes it.
- MCQ is two-thirds of your composite, so work through elasticity, consumer and producer surplus and factor-market questions rather than only practicing graphs.
